CINCINNATI – After a convincing 112-83 win over Point Park last Tuesday (Jan. 3), Cincinnati Christian prepares for a four-game road trip that begins this weekend with Brescia on Friday (Jan. 13) and IU Southeast on Saturday (Jan. 14). Tip off on Friday is set for 8 p.m. and Saturday's matchup will begin at 3 p.m.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
CCU (6-11, 3-2) jumped to second in the western division of the conference after last week's victory. Offensively, they own the 16th-best free throw percentage (.755) and pull down the 17th-most offensive rebounds per game (12.882).
SEIBERT IN THE BOOKS
After his 20-point performance against the Pioneers, senior Nick Seibert has joined the 1000-point club at Cincinnati Christian. This season alone, he has piled up 243 points through six games and leads the conference in free throw percentage as he sinks over 91-percent of his attempts from the charity stripe.
Seibert is averaging 15.19 points per game on 12 double-figure showings during his senior campaign.
WHITE NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
White tallied a season-best 29 points, shooting 9-for-15 from the field, and draining seven three-point shots during last Tuesday's performance. He also pulled down nine boards en route to a near double-double.
The 6'3 guard out of Cicero, Indiana has posted 117 points on the season and is averaging almost eight points per game. White ranks third on the Eagle depth chart in three-point shooting (27 on the season) during his 15 appearances during the 2016-17 season.
The Bearcats play host to CCU with a 2-14 overall record and a winless 0-6 slate in conference play. As a team, they are allowing almost 100 points per game (96.17) during league contests, while only posting 82 ppg.
Leading scorer Dillon Geralds is putting up double-figures scoring with his 17.87 points per game and is also pacing the Bearcats in rebounding. Geralds, a forward out of Kentucky, also grabs the most steals on the team with 21 steals on the season.
Trey Howard and Tavon Johnson join Geralds in Brescia's scoring effort as they post 14.2 and 12.4 ppg, respectively. From three-point range, Johnson also anchors the outside effort with 26 triples on the season.
LOOKING AT THE GRENADIERS
IU Southeast is the lone team that ranks ahead of CCU in their division with a 12-4, 6-1 record this season. The Grenadiers are coming off back-to-back wins against Rio Grande and IU Kokomo since the turn of the new year.
IU Southeast ranks first in the country while holding opponents to just 36-percent shooting and posts the second-highest amount of blocks per game (5.875) with 94 total on the season.
Forward Joe Jackson has been a force in the post as he ranks nationally in blocks (41) and blocks per game with over two and a half per game. Jackson is nearing the 100-rebound mark while he pulls down at least six boards per game and has eight double-digit scoring performances under his belt this season.
Jamie Johnson is the team's leading scoring with over 15 points per game after opening up the season with a pair of 20-plus point performances, including 55 points across his last three games.
CCU has a quick turnaround as it keeps on its road stint with a matchup on Tuesday, January 17 at Ohio Christian. Tip off against the OCU is set for 7:30 p.m.
