CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Christian is looking for a victory over IU-Southeast on Saturday (Feb. 4) as they honor seniors Nick Seibert and Khari Burton during its final home contest. Tip-off is set to follow the women's contest at 3 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
In a rematch against Brescia on Tuesday evening, Cincinnati Christian topped the Bearcats 105-80. CCU shot 50-percent from the field overall and held Brescia to just 36-percent and forced 15 Bearcat turnovers.
SCOUTING THE CLASS OF 2017
Seibert was the latest Eagle to join the 1000-point club this season with his 365 points this season, 1122 points on his career. During his senior campaign, he is averaging 15.9 ppg and 5.3 rebounds. Seibert boasts a 90-percent success rate from the free-throw line, going 108-for-120 on the year. Seibert also has six 20-plus point showings this season.
Burton sits third on the Eagle depth chart this season with his 12.92 ppg. Through two seasons at CCU, Burton has recorded 640 points through his two years as an Eagle. The second half of the season has been phenomenal for the guard as he has three-straight performances with at least 20 points. Burton has also handed out a team-high 60 assists on the season.
LOOKING AT IU-SOUTHEAST
IU-Southeast's (18-4, 12-1) offense ranks third in the league this season, posting at least 85 points per game, while holding opponents to just 71 ppg and shooting over 48-percent from the field.
The Grenadiers also lead the country in total blocks (137) and blocks per game (6.227), while also holding opponents to the lowest shooting percentage in Division II (.364). Jamie Johnson and Demetrius Stanton are both averaging double-figure scoring for IUS with 15.3 ppg and 14.4 ppg, respectively.
Joe Jackson is the driving force behind IUS blocking stats as his 2.8 blocks per game are the second-best in the NAIA. In addition, he leads the team in rebounding. Jackson's 140 rebounds are the most on the squad and has pulled down 27 in his last three appearances.
CCU has a short turnover in action as they return to the court on Tuesday (Feb. 7) at IU-Kokomo.
